Our shelled critters are some of the most fascinating and friendly creatures in the world! People rarely have a chance to see them in the wild. We give our guests a unique opportunity to meet and interact with them.
Spotlight: Squirt the Tortoise
Many of our tortoises love to roam around and explore. Nobody more than Squirt, a 15-year-old, 60-pound Sulcata African Spurred Tortoise. Guests love to see squirt and his other tortoise friends as they are walking around the park!
Spotlight: Shrek the Turtle
Shrek is a 125-pound Alligator Snapping Turtle. Shrek has been with us for nearly 30 years and is now close to 100-years-old. Shrek was originally caught by a fisherman and sold at a food market in Mississippi. He was purchased and kept as a pet in a kiddie pool for a few years before he was finally donated to the aquarium as an unwanted pet.

Spotlight: Henry & Sophia the Diamondback Terrapins
Henry and Sophia were surrendered pets that have been with us for over 8 years. For all 8 years, Henry has had a huge crush on Sophia and follows her around almost constantly! Dedication or Stalker? We let Sophia decide. Come meet them in our touch tank! They are now joined by other terrapin friends.
